Inspirational Quotes to Keep you Going

Sometimes, as a creative,  you need some kind words to keep you going, especially if you’re trying to reach some important goals or deadlines!  A couple of weeks ago I took part in a challenge, as part of the Roost Tribe, to create illustrated art with an inspirational quote.  The purpose being that we all need some positivity and focus when we are starting out & sometimes a good quote can help with that!  It was hard to pick just one, so here are my top 10 inspirational quotes that keep me striving to reach my goals!  I hope they inspire you too!

A Walk in History

I have a huge fondness for historical clothing, as a result I’ve started a small collection of clothes to study and hopefully reproduce someday.  This lovely shirt dates sometime from the early 20th century.  Most noteworthy is a lovely ruffle around its collar that comes down the front and is adorned with clear glass buttons.  The ruffle has beautiful floral embroidery and is also edged in delicate lace.  It was found at a flea market in Connecticut and there was no known story attached to it.  A shame, really, but we have our imaginations to help us out!  I wonder who made it & wore it.  Where were they living and what did they look like? Oh if it could talk, I’m sure it’d have a lot to say!

Spring has Sprung!

It’s finally arrived!  Spring!  All of the goodness that one can expect from this time of year has come forth with a wave of warm air and blossoms ready to burst open!! Being filled with the joy of the season, I took to my new studio space to create some still life photographs inspired by the freshness in the air and the Easter holiday. Bouquets of flowers, farm fresh eggs, and collections of rustic tidbits provided plenty fodder for the imagination!

Nature Walk

It always happens this time of year. The anticipation of spring consumes those of us who are in the Northeast.  Winter just doesn’t seem to want to let go and we are so ready for it to let go!  There comes a point, however, that spring can no longer be denied and that point is now!  Things still look pretty brown up here in the North Country, but if we look hard enough, nature provides plenty of inspiration!  I had the pleasure recently of taking a walk with a friend through the forest.  Little bits of nature provided joy and sparked the imagination!
